Paradise Alley is a 1978 American sports drama film written, directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, in his feature film directorial debut. The film tells the story of three brothers in Hell's Kitchen, New York City in the 1940s who become involved in professional wrestling. This was the first major film in which Armand Assante appeared. Anne Archer also starred. Joe Spinell, a co-star of Rocky, played the wrestling MC. It seems to be pretty much the script for Paradise Alley, with the lines linked by narrative. Not so horribly blatant, but both this book and the film came after Stallone had taken home an Academy Award for best screenplay. Anyway, the film is not technically GOOD, but has an endearing and authentic 1970s charm that works quite well. Too Close To Paradise Vocal By Sylvester Stallone. Tough Life In Hell's Kitchen.
