Best Kissers in the World is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1989 in Phoenix, AZ. The original lineup consisted of Gerald Collier lead vocals, guitar and Danny Bland bass, also of Cat Butt and Dwarves who relocated to Seattle in 1990 where they added Sten Olson guitar and Andy Spath drums shortly before signing to Sub Pop records. In 1991, the band released their eponymously named debut EP Produced by Jon Auer of The Posies and Big Star and toured with L7, Social. Puddin' is a five-song, 19-minute EP that shows Best Kissers In The World to be an energetic band solidly in the guitar-slashing, hard-pounding mold of grunge rock. Singer-songwriter Gerald Collier manages to distinguish his band within that framework by writing sometimes humorously self-deprecating lyrics Melanie, but this sampling of The Best Kissers' songs presents more potential than accomplishment.
