Studio Benny Sings. van Berkestijn, better known by his stage name Benny Sings, is a Dutch pop artist who has released 6 albums on different labels, currently signed to Stones Throw Records. Since 2003, he has produced four studio albums and one live album. His third album, Benny. at Home, has met critical acclaim outside of the Netherlands. Benny Sings has been invited to perform on Radio Nova. He has also been tapped to compose songs for the anime Carole & Tuesday. Since Benny Sings released the 2011 album Art, he's been a very, very busy fellow. Along with touring, producing multiple acts, appearing on a hit song with Data, and forming new bands new wave disco duo Copy Club, Coco Tour, and Double Double, he also built a new studio in Amsterdam. Like on Art, Benny Sings sticks to a pretty smooth middle-of-the-road sound that splits the difference between late-night neo-soul and drive-time soft rock, with plenty of midtempo tunes made for kicking back and relaxing as the luxurious vocals caress your ears and the melodies soothe you. Benny Sings released City Pop, his sixth album and first for Stones Throw in February 2019. With his signing to Stones Throw, he joins the labels roster of artists - such as Jerry Paper and Mild High Club - in making music at the intersection of jazz, AOR, R&B and soul. Like the 2015 album Studio, City Pop celebrates collaboration, with Hawthorne, Cornelius, Sukima switch the Japanese Steely Dan , Mocky and Faberyayo among the featured artists. True to the albums name, cities from around the world play a starring role. Alongside collaborations with these Japanese musicians, Benny worked with Tokyo artist Ryu Okubo for the album art illustration. Benny Sings - Art 2011 Benny Sings has finally graduated.
