In November of 1960, Sviatoslav Richter recorded 3 Beethoven sonatas in the studio for RCA. The sonatas recorded were Beethoven Sonatas No. 12, 22 and 23. This album contains his recordings of Piano Sonata No. 12 and No. Beethoven's piano sonatas are at the pinnacle of classical music repertoire for piano sonatas, and the Appassionata Sonata No. 23 and the Funeral March Sonata No. 12, are among the best of Beethoven's 32. Richter played both of these sonatas throughout his career, and these recordings are some of his best renditions of both sonatas. The Appassionata is played.
