The album is characterized by it's goofy songs, it's long tracklist, and it's experimentation. It was released in February of 1994, two weeks before the release of Beck's next album, Mellow Gold, and would be one of three albums he released that year, the third being One Foot in the Grave. The album shows strong folk influence, and is a lo-fi recording of anti-commercial nature. It is mostly made up of home recordings, studio recordings. The latter album is Beck's least-known, and comprises of a whopping 23 tracks, most of which have trouble cracking the 2-minute mark.
