After their second album Into the Unknown was released in 1983, the band broke-up for their first and only time and reformed again in 1985. Nevertheless, the net result is that All Ages is more or less Bad Religion from Suffer 1988 through Generator 1992, but that's when the band first peaked anyway, with material so incredible it would seem like justice if everyone who bought a Green Day or Offspring LP the previous year decent as those LPs are were forced to return them. More specifically, this compilation should have been called "The Best of Bad Religion 1982-1992" or "The Epitaph Years", since it contains nothing after "Generator". Perhaps "Recipe for Hate", and the "Bad Religion" and "Back to the Known" EPs were all Epitaph products, but I'm surprised this compilation has nothing from those releases as well. I heard rumors that the reason "All Ages" has nothing from "Recipe for Hate" and "Stranger Than Fiction" is because of the fact that they were Atlantic products and the label owns rights to them, even though "Recipe for Hate" was released on Epitaph first and then Atlantic reissued it. This can explain why "Infected" or "American Jesus" isn't on here. Yes, "All Ages" is a good compilation album, but it would have been nice if they included more classics/awesome songs like "Give You Nothing", "Big Bang", the "Bad Religion" song, "Politics", "Yesterday", "Along the Way" and the studio versions of "Fuck Armageddon...This Is Hell" and "Do What You Want" rather than the live versions - just to name a couple.
