Short intro

The House on the Hill is the third album by the British art rock band Audience, released in 1971. At about the same time, a single, Indian Summer, reached number 74 on the Billboard Hot 100. The North American version of the album on Elektra Records added Indian Summer as the opening track, along with It Brings A Tear which had already appeared on the UK album Friend's Friend's Friend. The Elektra LP dropped the song Eye To Eye. House On The Hill - Audience. Raviole is an instrumental piece painted with lovely acoustic guitar and is one of the real gems on the album. There's not a lot of meat on each of the songs, but the use of flute and vibraphone give this album a unique feel and is deemed interesting mainly for that purpose. The overall atmosphere is quite comfortable, and the hypnotizing effect aroused from the woodwind instruments creates an absorbing mood one might not expect to find here. Текст песни: Ive been told about the house on the hill So high and old, the house on the hill Say that theres a King Rat who wears a judges black cap And I wouldnt go near the house on the hill. The rat becomes a maiden, her soul endowed by Satan And I wouldnt go near the house on the hill As is her sin, yeah, in the house on the hill She lures travellers into the house on the hill Enchants them with her charms then she falls on and devours them And I wouldnt go near the house on the. Khruangbin - Mordechai Full Album - Продолжительность: 44:00 Natural Selection Recommended for third album, The House on the Hill was released one year before the band called it a day in 1972, after the flop of their fourth disc, Lunch originally meant as a concept album. Audience is now considered to be Eclectic Prog although I personally don't see the connection since The House On The Hill is in my opinion highly representative of the Prog Folk-movement of the '70s. Did I mentioned that there is a flute player here . Songs in album Audience - The House On The Hill 1971. Audience - Jackdraw. Album 1971 9 Songs. I Put a Spell On You. The House On the Hill. Audience was a truly interesting band, They take on folk, jazz, rock, blues, and prog in a style you won't mistake for Yes or Genesis. The House on the Hill is their third and considered their finest. To be honest, I didn't like the album when I first heard it, because I had difficulties with Howard Werth's vocals, but then I gave the album further listens, and it turns out to be a great album
