Archiva is a two-volume collection of out-takes and previously unreleased tracks by British progressive rock band Asia. The volume one, designated as Archiva 1, was released on 3 September 1996 by Resurgence. In late 1995, Asia had completed work on their sixth studio album, Arena. On 1 January 1996, when the group returned from the holidays to their recording studio, Electric Palace, in London, they found that a water pipe had burst and had destroyed hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of equipment. Archiva 2: track 13 taken from the Little Rich Boy CD single release, track 14 taken from the Turn It Around promotional CD single. Digitally Remastered by Peter van't Riet at FineTune. More than a compilation, this range of recordings demanded extra care for richness and consistency. Originally released in 1996 as a two-disc series, 2005 saw the Archiva set repackaged with new bonus mixes and an acoustic performance of Open Your Eyes. A wild two-disc assortment of unreleased material intended for other releases, Archiva is definitely something for the die-hard fan looking to complete his collection.
