Andrew Dice Clay born Andrew Clay Silverstein September 29, 1957 is an American stand-up comedian, actor, musician and producer. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s with a brash, macho, persona known as The Diceman. In 1990, he became the first stand-up comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden for two consecutive nights. That same year, he played the lead role in the comedy-mystery film The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. For a few years, starting in 1989, comedian Andrew Dice Clay was one of the biggest stars around. He was packing arenas on tour, and few standup comics have ever reached that level of fame. But just as quickly as his star rose, it burned out after a controversial appearance on Saturday Night Live and the box-office failure of 1990's The Adventures of Ford Fairlane although it has become something of a cult film. And its that persona that has made Clay The Undisputed Heavy Weight King of Comedy. To this day, Clay remains the only performer banned for life from MTV. When he released his debut album, DICE, the parental advisory label simply read Warning: This album is offensive. But despite the media backlash Dices rise to fame was meteoric, creating Dicemania.
