Short intro

Back in the USA is the debut studio album and second album overall, following 1969's live album Kick Out the Jams by American rock band MC5. The central focus of the album is the band's movement away from the raw, thrashy sound pioneered and captured on their first release, the live album Kick Out the Jams 1969. This was due in part to producer Jon Landau's distaste for the rough psychedelic rock movement, and his adoration for the straightforward rock and roll of the 1950s. Lost in America is a single by musician Alice Cooper taken from his 1994 album The Last Temptation. It was the most popular single from the album. Lost in America has been a live staple since its release, and is the solitary song from The Last Temptation that Cooper has performed live from 2000 onwards. The single featured a B-side, a live version of Hey Stoopid. Just then Back in the . came on and I went: 'Boy that would be a great song to sing. I think I'll do that one. The single of Ronstadt's version rose as high as number 11 in Cash Box and reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Gene Summers included Back In The USA on his 1983 album 'Live' In Scandinavia, and he has also used the song as his opening number on numerous occasions. Chris Robinson and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes performed this song during Berry's induction into the Kennedy Center Honors in 2000. In Kidsongs Sing Out, America, the song title is called Living in the USA instead of Back in the USA. The recurring theme which drives Back in the USA is adolescence, its reminiscences alternately fond and embittered - while cuts like Tonight, Teenage Lust, High School, and Shakin' Street celebrate youth in all its rebellious glory, others like The American Ruse and The Human Being Lawnmower condemn a system which eats its young, filling their heads with lies before sending them off. In 1975, Alice Cooper joined forces with longtime collaborator and producer Bob Ezrin to begin his solo career with the album Welcome to My Nightmare, a theatrical concept album about the nightmares of a young boy named Steven. Alice hates technology, disco is still a nightmare for him and working in a cubicle from nine-to-five would give him cold sweats,. Music video by Alice Cooper performing Lost In America. But they got flak for a juvenile stunt in the album photo: Cooper wrapped his cape around him and poked his right thumb out, making it look to a casual viewer like his schlong was hanging out. For his trouble, he had his entire right arm airbrushed out. View Complete List. With Alice Cooper, Stef Burns, Ricky Parent, Derek Sherinian. Added to Watchlist
