In the early 1970s after meeting sarod maestro Ali Akbar Khansaheb in London, I started to explore his music. Although, he was the first major Indian classical musician to perform in the USA at the behest of Yehudi Menuhin in 1955, a recording was made with Pandit Chatur Lal, which was released thereafter. Trained as a classical musician and instrumentalist by his father, Allauddin Khan, he also composed numerous classical ragas and film scores.
