Ronald Belford Bon Scott 9 July 1946 19 February 1980 was an Australian singer, songwriter and instrumentalist, best known for being the lead vocalist and lyricist of the Australian hard rock band ACDC from 1974 until his death in 1980. Scott was born in Forfar, Scotland, and spent his early years in Kirriemuir. He moved to Australia with his family in 1952 at the age of six, living in Melbourne for four years before settling in Fremantle, Western Australia. Judging by video of ACDCs appearance, though, Bon Scott had enough energy for the whole day. During Live Wire, he writhes about the stage and leans into the mic, posing for the front row. The album contained the singles Girls Got Rhythm, Touch Too Much, and, of course, Highway to Hell, which made it up to Number 47 on the Hot 100 by December 1979. The LP made it up to Number 17 on the Billboard 200 and went gold by that Christmas and platinum by March 1980 its since been certified seven times platinum.
