Does anyone know who the picture is of on the cover?

That is Isadore Ducasse, who's referenced in the first song.

as the title pun gives away, that's Isidore-Lucien Ducasse, who under the pseudonym of Comte de Lautréamont wrote the Les Chants de Maldoror (surrealist book to whom Current 93, Coil and NWW will pay homage with their Bar Maldoror concept)

I have a copy here that has dark red translucent vinyl (only visible when held against light). Is that a very rare one or do they all have that?

On my copy, it depends on the type of light. With a filament lamp, it's dark red translucent, and with a LED light, it's dark green translucent... I assume the color depends on the warmth of the light !

Mine is dark translucent green when held up to strong light.

I have 2 copies, the green centre labels are different, one forest green on text side and mint green/black on pic side and the other a mint green text side/black and white on pic side. Neither are reddish when held to the light.

Unknown Pleasures and Closer by Joy Division (also on Factory) had that same effect on the first editions, so I reckon yours is a 1st as well. I may be wrong, though. My copy of Do The Du (Casse) is black through and through, and I'd rather have yours :-).

I think so, yes. It's maybe as what Factory did with, I think it was Closer (Joy Division), as well. There are also dark red translucent copies of it next to normal black ones. When nobody ever sees it, it will never be mentioned cause you only see it in the light. I also discovered this on certain Isaac Hayes records. It wasn't yet mentioned on discogs.
